CDFI Friendly Thanks Board Members for Their Service

In this season of celebration and reflection, CDFI Friendly South Bend Region would like to recognize and thank several board members who are rolling off the board after completing their terms. Their volunteer leadership has been invaluable, especially during the early years of building CDFI Friendly.

Two founding board members, Nicola Brown and Manjima Bose, are concluding their board service after helping guide the organization through its launch and early growth.

Manjima brought years of experience working with Community Development Financial Institutions (CDFIs), helping shape the organization’s strategy while also guiding operational best practices. Nicola, an entrepreneur, brought a strong focus on business outcomes that matter, paired with a thoughtful lens for equity and creative approaches to solving challenges. While stepping down from the board, Nicola will continue supporting the organization by volunteering on the CDFI Friendly Investment Committee.

CDFI Friendly also recognizes three members of the 2022 board class who have completed their terms with distinction.

Dr. Angela Logan brought deep nonprofit leadership experience and has helped create opportunities for students and future practitioners to engage with our work. We also congratulate Dr. Logan again on receiving the Mary Lou Schwartz Award from the Junior League.

Marcus Northern, a local business owner, contributed valuable insight into regional industry and the broader small business ecosystem. Thank you Marcus and we will continue to call on your when we can for your insight.

Dr. Carlos Bolden’s care for community development and strong experience in investing and small business development, along with careful attention to detail and a wide professional network.

CDFI Friendly is grateful for the time, expertise, and leadership these board members shared with the organization. Their contributions helped strengthen our mission of expanding access to responsible capital and support for entrepreneurs across the South Bend region.

Please join us in thanking them for their service and impact.
